Women’s Tennis wins fifth straight, takes down York, 8-1

YORK, Pa. – The Salisbury University women's tennis collected win number five in a row with an 8-1 win on the road over the York Spartans on Sunday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • All three doubles matches finished the with the same score, 8-4, in favor of the Sea Gulls. Evelyn Whiteside and Hannah Carter won their eighth and seventh doubles match in a row with their No. 3 doubles win over Eleanor Beck and Morrissey Walsh.
  • Carter and Whiteside cruised to a two-set sweep in fifth and sixth singles respectively.
  • Elizabeth Christine notched a 6-0, 6-4 win in No. 2 singles over Hannah Sult.
  • Olivia Hall earned a 6-1, 6-2 victory in third singles. It was her ninth straight win in singles action.
  • Sarah Cooper picked up a 6-2, 6-2 win in fourth singles over Brianna Rohrer.
  • Katherine Tamesis battled in No. 1 singles and won the first set but fell in a close match to Elsa Oestermarker.
UP NEXT
  • Salisbury will continue on the road on Saturday, April 8 against the Rutgers-Camden Scarlet Raptors.
  • The match is set to begin at 1 p.m.
