No. 4 Women’s Lacrosse set to face Warren Wilson in C2C Semifinals on Wednesday

SALISBURY, Md. – The top-seeded and fourth-ranked Salisbury University women's lacrosse team will square off with the fourth-seeded Warren Wilson Owls in the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) Semifinals on Wednesday, May 3 at 1 p.m. at Sea Gull Stadium.
HOW WE GOT HERE
  • Salisbury finished the regular season with a 12-3 overall record.
  • The Sea Gulls earned the top seed for the conference championship after a 2-0 mark in C2C play during the regular season.
  • Salisbury's offense is led by Emma Skoglund who leads the team with 52 points and 32 goals. Skoglund is also second on the team in assists with 20.
  • The midfield is led by Riley Hartman who is second on the team in goals with 23 and third in points with 30. Hartman has also collected 29 draw controls which are third-best on the team.
  • Natalie Held has held down the backline for the Sea Gulls this season. Held led the team in caused turnovers (25) and ground balls (23). She is also key to the Sea Gull draw control with a team-high 52 during the season.
  • In the cage, the Sea Gulls lean on senior goalkeeper Kaitlyn Hunsinger. Hunsinger has totaled over 750 minutes in goal and tallied 101 saves with a 51 percent save percentage and a 7.72 goals-against-average.
HOW THEY GOT HERE
  • Warren Wilson finished the regular season with a 5-6 overall record.
  • The Owls' offense is led by Dylan Edwards who has totaled 74 points on 50 goals and 24 assists.
  • Sydney Weber has also contributed 67 points from 58 goals and nine assists. She is also key in the draw control with 110 collected on the season.
  • Edwards and Weber also lead the team in caused turnovers with 12 each and ground balls with 29 each.
  • Hayden Drescher and Christina Fischborn split time in the cage. Drescher has totaled over 390 minutes and tallied 78 saves for an 11.41 goals-against average. Fischborn has over 250 minutes with 62 saves and a 14.59 goals-against-average.
WHAT'S ON THE LINE
  • The winner of Salisbury and Warren Wilson will take on the winner between second-seeded CNU and third-seeded Mary Washington in the C2C Championship.
  • If Salisbury wins on Wednesday, the C2C Championship game is scheduled for Saturday, May 6 at 1 p.m. at Sea Gull Stadium.
