SALISBURY, Md. - Salisbury University announced on Monday that
Sean Brown was named the assistant men's basketball coach.
Brown joins Salisbury after spending the last five years at Frostburg State University as the head men's basketball coach. While at Frostburg, Brown worked through a transition that saw the Bobcats move from Division III to Division II as they left the Capital Athletic Conference in 2019 and joined the Mountain East Conference.
During his tenure at Frostburg, Brown coached three all-conference players and picked up ranked wins over Fairmont State and West Virginia State. The team also maintained a GPA over 3.0.
Before his time at Frostburg, Brown served for three years at the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford from 2015-18 with two seasons as the head women's basketball coach and his final season as the head men's basketball coach at Pitt-Bradford.
Brown played collegiately at Frostburg and at Prince George's Community College. At Frostburg, he was a team captain for two years and held the program's three-point shooting percentage record. He also led the Bobcats to the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Championship in the 2000-01 season and was named First Team All-AMCC in the 2001-02 season.
Brown graduated from Frostburg with a Bachelor's in Recreation and Parks Management with a minor in African American Studies in 2003 and earned his Master's in
Interdisciplinary Studies in 2005.
The 2023-24 men's basketball season is scheduled to begin Nov. 10 as the Sea Gulls take on Randolph-Macon at the TowneBank Tip-Off Tournament in Virginia Beach, Va.
