The Series
This is the 15th time the Sea Gulls and Lions have faced off in football. TCNJ is 8-6 all-time against Salisbury and won last year's meeting 36-27. Before last year, the Sea Gulls had won six in a row over the Lions.

The Revenge Tour
The Sea Gulls are 7-0 and 4-0 in NJAC action. They had two ranked wins at the beginning of the season and won three games in a row to opponents they lost to last season. After the 48-26 season-opening win over Washington & Lee, the Sea Gulls hosted No. 18 Muhlenberg and hung 59 points outscoring the Mules 24-0 to close the game. In the next ranked win at No. 8 Johns Hopkins, SU shut out the Blue Jays 31-0 in the second half on the way to a 41-13 victory. They then took down rival Christopher Newport University 42-38 in a game with 11 lead changes. This match up is another chance for the Sea Gulls to continue their revenge tour for losses last season.

The Captains
Juniors Micah Brubaker and Jimmy Celentano along with graduate seniors Frankie Giannetti and Tre Price were announced as team captains heading into the TCNJ week.

The Class of the NJAC
Since joining the NJAC in 2015, Salisbury has won 63 games in the conference. The 63 wins stand as the most wins among active teams in the conference. Since joining the NJAC in 2015, Salisbury has won five conference championships which is the most in the eight-year span. If the Sea Gulls win Saturday, they earn at least a share of the 2024 Conference Title. This would also be the 200th Conference Championship for the Salisbury Athletics Program.

Among the Greats
Salisbury head coach Sherman Wood ranks in the top 15 of active coaches in wins, regardless of NCAA Division. Coach Wood totaled 209 victories as head coach with stints at Bowie State and SU. Wood has more career wins than other notable coaches with 20 years or more of experience than Rich Rodriguez of Jacksonville St. and Terry Bowden of Louisiana-Monroe.

Both Sides of the Ball
The SU defense has created 13 turnovers in the seven games, while the offense has been 60 percent on third downs and has scored points 32 times out of 36 tries in the red zone.
