Women’s Tennis sweeps Harford CC to cap fall

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University women's tennis team closed out its fall slate with a commanding victory, sweeping the Harford Community College Fighting Owls 7-0 on Friday afternoon at the SU Outdoor Tennis Center.
 
MATCH NOTES
  • The Sea Gulls took the solitary doubles point after winning all three matches. Gibelle Beaujon and Olivia Hall rolled to a perfect 6-0 margin in first doubles, while Evelyn Whiteside and Lily Muir handled second doubles 6-1, and Ridgley Lake and Katherine Raab took third doubles 6-2.
  • In singles play, all six SU players defeated their HCC counterparts in straight sets. Beaujon, Muir, Whiteside, and Raab followed up their doubles victories with triumphs in first-through-fourth singles.
  • Elizabeth Coligan didn't drop a game on the way to a fifth-singles win over Ann Maleak Riosa (6-0, 6-0), and Rebecca Terry made it a perfect afternoon by besting Emily Persuhn in sixth singles (6-2, 6-1).
 
The Sea Gulls will break for the winter and begin their spring championship season in mid-February. The full schedule will be announced at a later date.
