SALISBURY, Md. – After finishing in the top 15 at Saturday's regional race, Salisbury University women's cross country athlete Rachel Roberts has qualified for the 2024 NCAA Division III National Championship race, which will be held on Saturday, Nov. 23, in Terre Haute, IN.
Roberts, a junior from Marriottsville, Md., finished 13th at the Mid-Atlantic Regional race in Lock Haven, Pa., on Saturday, earning All-Region honors with a time of 21:41.0. That time was good enough for a personal record for Roberts.
She qualified for the championship race as an individual at-large selection, one of seven qualifying runners from the Mid-Atlantic region who will go to Indiana independently of their teams.
Roberts, along with earning All-Region, earned First Team All-Conference from the C2C. In the Coast-to-Coast Championship race, Roberts placed second with a time of 22:14.0, leading her team to a second-place finish. Earlier in the season, Roberts won the Don Cathcart Invitational with a time of 22:10.5 which helped propel her team to the overall victory.
