Cross Country soars in Salisbury Fall Classic; Men earn first place while women place third

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University cross country programs opened the 2025 season at the Salisbury Fall Classic hosted at Winter Place Park, competing against top competition from the U.S. Naval Academy and Rowan University.

The Sea Gull men took home the top spot on the 8k course with 32 points in front of Navy, who trailed tightly with 37 points. Rowan placed third with 51 points, rounding out the top three team finishes. The SU women placed third on the 6k course with 69 points. Navy took home first at 24 points while Rowan grabbed second with 44 points.

Men Meet Notes
  • Tristan Dutton grabbed second place with a time of 25:21.90 while Gabe Riling finished third just six seconds behind him at 25:27.10.
  • Landon Lewicki rounded out the top five in fifth with a time of 25:31.90.
  • Seth Barron and Cormac Moroney earned top-15 finishes each. Barron placed 12th with a time of 26:01.90, while Moroney earned 13th with a time of 26:06.40.
  • The Sea Gulls tallied four more runners in the top-25. Bradley Helman earned 19th in his Sea Gull debut with a time of 26:18.00, while fellow freshman Darian Walters grabbed 21st place at 26:23.20.
  • Connor Kinch and Peyton Dill rounded out the top-25 finishes for the Sea Gulls as Kinch earned 22nd with a time of 26:24.40 and Dill posted a time of 26:39.00.
Women Meet Notes
  • Anna Bodmer led the way for the Sea Gulls with a third-place finish at 21:48.00.
  • Madi Sisson earned a 15th-place finish with a time of 22:52.70.
  • Leah Snyder also earned a top-20 finish with a time of 23:26.40, earning 19th place.
  • SU tallied four more runners in the top-25. Peri Nelson placed 24th for SU with a time of 24:00.70. The freshman trio of Camryn Russum, Miranda Bournique, and Regan Zettler rounded out the top-25 for Salisbury.
  • Russum earned 21st with a time of 23:45.30, Bournique placed 23rd at 23:56.90, while Zettler tallied 25th with a time of 24:03.80. Fellow freshman Skylar Schrader finished just outside the top-25 in 26th place with a time of 24:18.30.
The Sea Gulls are back in action at the CNU Invitational on September 12th at 4 p.m. in Newport News, Va.
