The Rundown

The second-ranked Salisbury University field hockey team will try to reclaim the conference title in the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) Championship. The Sea Gulls will host fifth-ranked Christopher Newport University in the C2C Championship on Saturday, Nov. 9th at 6 p.m. inside Sea Gull Stadium.

  • Salisbury went 14-2 this season which included six ranked wins. Salisbury also outscored opponents 56-12 on the season. 
  • Head coach Dawn Chamberlin and her staff were named C2C Coaching Staff of the Year while sophomore Marli McDorman was named C2C Player of the Year.
  • Eight Sea Gulls were named to the All-C2C First Team.
  • CNU went 14-1 on the year with the lone loss coming inside Sea Gull Stadium 3-1 on Oct. 16th. 
  • The Captains also had eight players earn C2C All-Conference Honors.
  • Headlining the decorated contingent, Brooke Billhimer was celebrated as the Defensive Player of the Year while Avery Mast was named the Rookie of the Year.
  • Saturday's matchup will be the 27th all-time meeting between the two league rivals. Salisbury holds a 19-7 advantage in the series.
  • The Sea Gulls are 7-3 in the last 10 over the Captains.
  • Salisbury earned a 3-1 victory inside Sea Gull Stadium over CNU in this year's regular season matchup. 
  • The Sea Gulls are 14-0 at home against the Captains.
