Women's Basketball trots past Stevenson

OWINGS MILLS, Md. - The Salisbury University women's basketball program has now rattled off four wins in a row after rolling past Stevenson University 54-44 Wednesday night inside Owings Mills Gymnasium.

The Sea Gulls led for just over 35 minutes of the ball game. Stevenson earned the first few baskets of the game but SU took a 6-5 lead with 7:06 left in the first quarter and never looked back. Salisbury earned a 15-11 lead heading into the second quarter of action but the Mustangs were able to cut that lead to just one at the halftime break.

The Sea Gulls won the game in the third quarter by outscoring Stevenson 23-9. After a basket from downtown for the Mustangs to regain the lead, the Sea Gulls went on a 21-4 run to create some breathing room heading into the fourth quarter. The Mustangs fought back in the fourth but the 15-point hole was too hard to climb out of giving Salisbury their fourth win in a row.

Abby Plaugher led the attack for SU earning a double-double with game-highs of 15 points and 12 rebounds. Nicole Miller added 14 points while Tori Rumbaugh had 10 points and eight rebounds.

Game Notes
- Remy Tolar grabbed seven rebounds while adding five points
- Jen Juhring and Kayla Nieberlein combined for 15 rebounds
- The SU bench outscored the Mustangs 22-12
- SU also earned seven more second-chance points than Stevenson
