SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University men's tennis team won its third straight dual match to open the season, outfoxing the Virginia Wesleyan Marlins, 5-4, on Saturday afternoon at the SU Indoor Tennis Center.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• The Sea Gulls took two of the three doubles matches to start the day. Gianluca Beaujon and Jhayden Pappas earned an 8-4 win from first doubles, while Caleb Brightman and Gurv Suri outlasted twins Rafael and Carlos Rullan Zarraga, 8-7, in second doubles.
• In the initial wave of singles matches, Pappas took down Felix Bevc (6-3, 4-6, 6-3) in a three-set first singles, while Beaujon cruised over Rafael Rullan Zarraga (6-1, 6-4) in second singles.
• Suri clinched the victory for SU with a 6-4, 6-3 win over Sebastien Muller in fourth singles.

UP NEXT

• The Sea Gulls will close out the weekend playing host to Goucher on Sunday morning. First serve from the SU Indoor Tennis Center is set for 11 a.m.
