HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Gibelle Beaujon (6-2, 6-1) locked up a first-singles triumph, and Sarah Cooper (6-2, 6-3) put SU on the cusp of victory by taking third singles.
  • Lily Muir clinched the match for the Sea Gulls by outlasting Shannon Lewes in fourth singles, winning in straight sets via tiebreaker, 7-6 (7-5), 7-6 (7-4).
  • Salisbury finished the afternoon by sweeping the trio of doubles bouts. Cooper and Muir (8-0) rolled perfectly through second doubles, while Carter and Evelyn Whiteside (8-1) dropped just one game in third doubles, and Beaujon and Olivia Hall (8-4) cruised in first doubles.
