CHESTERTOWN, Md. – The fifth-ranked Salisbury University women's lacrosse team continued its blistering start to the season on Saturday afternoon, charging out of Chestertown with a 19-5 victory over the Washington (Md.) Shorewomen at Roy Kirby, Jr. Stadium.

  • Washington got one back less than a minute later before a maroon and gold wave crashed on Kibler Field. The Sea Gulls unleashed an 11-goal run spanning nearly 26 minutes of game time, beginning with solo goals by Erin Scannell and Julianna Ott. Caroline Knight posted back-to-back goals separated by just 50 seconds, with Lauren Hackett dishing on the second for SU's 10th goal of the contest.
  • Hackett picked up another assist 45 seconds later courtesy of Alexandra Parker before Price and Vilov renewed their connection to push Salisbury's lead to 12-1 at intermission.
  • Parker found Hanzsche in the opening seconds of the third quarter to extend the margin to 12 before the Shorewomen found twine in the ensuing minutes.
  • Washington saw a goal sandwiched by a pair of Salisbury strikes, including an unassisted finish by Ott and a Mears tally (aided by Parker) before Ott pounced again to widen the Sea Gull gap to 16-3 heading in to the fourth.
