Women’s Tennis sweeps St. Mary’s (Md.), 9-0

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University women's tennis team mixed up its lineup but still came away with a convincing 9-0 sweep of the St. Mary's (Md.) Seahawks on Wednesday afternoon at the SU Indoor & Outdoor Tennis Center.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The teams played their singles matches before doubles, starting outdoors before eventually moving indoors due to rain.
  • Gibelle Beaujon led off the Sea Gulls' efforts with a 6-3 win in first singles following the retirement of Cleopatra Solomon.
  • Sarah Cooper, Evelyn Whiteside, and Katherine Raab each recorded perfect 6-0, 6-0 scores in third, fifth, and sixth singles, respectively.
  • Olivia Hall won second singles 6-0, 6-1, while Lily Muir took a 6-1, 6-0 victory in fourth singles.
  • Hannah Carter and Elizabeth Coligan swept second doubles 8-0, while Cooper and Muir in first doubles and Raab and Ridgley Lake in third doubles each won by 8-2 tallies.

  • The Sea Gulls will battle their first NCAA Division I opponents of the season as Towson makes the visit across the Bay on Friday afternoon.
