CHESTERTOWN, Md. – The Salisbury University women's tennis team bounced back from a weekend defeat to win the battle of Delmarva, besting the Washington College Shorewomen, 5-4, on Wednesday afternoon at the Johnson Lifetime Fitness Center.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED

• Sarah Cooper and Lily Muir earned the first win of the day for the Sea Gulls, taking an 8-4 decision in second doubles.
• Gibelle Beaujon picked up an abbreviated first-singles win (6-1, 2-0) after WC's Piper Sartison retired.
• Evelyn Whiteside was awarded a victory in sixth singles via a walk over.
• Muir easily bested Carrie Lord (6-4, 6-0) in a fourth-singles tilt.
• Cooper clinched the victory for SU by outlasting Eva Kading in third singles (6-4, 2-6, 6-3).

UP NEXT

• The Sea Gulls will return home for a pair of weekend matches against Stevens and York (Pa.).
• SU will battle Stevens on Saturday at 11 a.m. and York on Sunday at 1 p.m.
