No. 30 Men’s Tennis upended at No. 38 CNU

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The 30th-ranked Salisbury University men's tennis faced a tough road draw against the 38th-ranked Christopher Newport Captains, falling 7-2 in a Saturday afternoon Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) tilt at Eyre Courts.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Aron Bursztyn and Mitchell Desman earned the Sea Gulls a win in third doubles, taking down Ahun Vodela and Alex Seretis 8-6.
  • Gurv Suri recorded the other SU win on the day in fourth singles, dropping the first set to Ryan Monroe 6-1 but winning the second 7-6 (7-5) and rolling to a 10-2 margin in the third-set tiebreaker.
  • Caleb Brightman forced a third set in third singles against Nesh Kumaresan, ultimately dropping a 7-6 (7-2), 5-7, 10-7 decision.
UP NEXT
  • The Sea Gulls will close out their regular season on Saturday afternoon at home against Harford Community College with first serve set for 2 p.m.
  • Before the match, Salisbury will hold a Senior Day celebration for its lone impending graduate, Russell Willenborg, as well as women's seniors Hannah Carter and Sarah Cooper.
