SALISBURY, Md. – The 30th-ranked Salisbury University men's tennis team sent senior member
Russell Willenborg out with a victory, taking down the Harford Community College Fighting Owls, 8-1, in Saturday afternoon's regular season finale at the SU Indoor & Outdoor Tennis Center.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Sea Gulls established the rhythm early by taking all three doubles tilts. Russell Willenborg and Christopher Catan breezed through third doubles, 8-2, and Aron Bursztyn and Mitchell Desman took care of second doubles, 8-5.
- Gianluca Beaujon and Jhayden Pappas sweated it out in first doubles, ultimately taking down Tristan Duval and Unai Llerena Perez 8-7 with a 7-4 tiebreaker.
- Beaujon easily dispatched Lucas Fox in second singles, 6-2, 6-0, while Caleb Brightman earned a quick 6-1, 6-0 victory in third singles.
- Gurv Suri (6-2, 6-4), Willenborg (6-0, 6-1), and Tim Holt (6-2, 6-0) each notched straight-sets wins in fourth, fifth, and sixth singles, respectively.

- The Sea Gulls will now get ready for the 2024 Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) Tournament, beginning on Friday at the University of Mary Washington in Fredericksburg, Va. SU's seeding and matchup will be determined in the coming days.
