Women’s Tennis tames Stevenson, 9-0

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University women's tennis team earned its fourth sweep of the season, posting a perfect 9-0 mark to tame the Stevenson Mustangs on Friday afternoon at the SU Outdoor Tennis Center.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Sea Gulls got off to a hot start in doubles play, winning the three tilts by a combined 24-1 margin. Gibelle Beaujon and Olivia Hall swept through first doubles 8-0, as did Sarah Cooper and Hannah Carter through second doubles, while Lily Muir and Evelyn Whiteside secured third doubles by an 8-1 tally.
  • Cooper wrapped up the first victory of singles play, taking down Erin Saunders 6-0, 6-1 in second singles. Hall (6-2, 6-2) finished off first singles soon after, while Carter (6-1, 6-3) managed third singles with ease.
  • Ridgley Lake (6-2, 6-2), Katherine Raab (6-3, 6-2), and Elizabeth Coligan (6-2, 6-3) provided strong performances in fourth, fifth, and sixth singles, respectively, to complete the sweep.
UP NEXT
  • The Sea Gulls will wrap up the regular season at home on Saturday afternoon against Harford Community College. First serve is set for 2 p.m.
  • Before the match SU will honor its two graduating women's tennis players – Hannah Carter and Sarah Cooper – as well as men's senior Russell Willenborg. The ceremony will take place at approximately 1:45 p.m.
