No. 30 Men’s Tennis breezes by Pratt, 5-0, to open C2C Tournament

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The 30th-ranked and fourth-seeded Salisbury University men's tennis team made quick work of the opposition to open the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) Tournament, downing the fifth-ranked Pratt Cannoneers, 5-0, on Friday morning at the Battleground Outdoor Complex on the campus of the University of Mary Washington.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Sea Gull tidal wave began early as all three doubles pairs swept their matches. Aron Bursztyn and Mitchell Desman wrapped up their 8-0 tally in third doubles first, while Caleb Brightman and Gurv Suri finished second doubles soon after, followed a few minutes later by Gianluca Beaujon and Jhayden Pappas in first doubles.
  • Suri tore through his fourth singles match with a perfect 6-0, 6-0 sweep, while Russell Willenborg brought the contest to an end with a 6-0, 6-0 triumph in sixth singles to give SU the team victory.
UP NEXT
  • The Sea Gulls will advance to face 21st-ranked and top-seeded Mary Washington in the C2C Tournament semifinals on Saturday.
  • First serve from Fredericksburg is set for 10 a.m.
