LANCASTER, Pa. – The Salisbury University women's tennis team seized control early and cruised to a 7-2 win over the Franklin & Marshall Diplomats on Saturday afternoon at the Brooks Tennis Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Sea Gulls put the match on the brink early by taking all three doubles matches. Gibelle Beaujon and Olivia Hall breezed through first doubles 8-2, while Sarah Cooper and Lily Muir took second doubles by the same score. In third doubles, Hannah Carter and Evelyn Whiteside put away a 8-5 victory.
  • SU then left no doubt by taking four out of six singles tilts. Beaujon powered through first singles (6-1, 6-2), while Hall [6-2, 7-6(7-1)] and Whiteside [6-4, 7-6(7-2)] used dominant second-set tiebreakers to take straight-sets wins in second and sixth singles, respectively.
  • Cooper gave the Sea Gulls a seventh triumph for the day in third singles. After dropping the first set 6-1, she came back to even it 6-2 in the second set before winning a 10-7 tiebreaker in the third set.
UP NEXT
