Men’s Soccer falls to No. 4 Washington (Md.)

ST. MARY'S CITY, Md. – The Salisbury University men's soccer team fell to the fourth-ranked Shoremen of Washington (Md.) on day two of the Seahawk Classic, dropping a 1-0 decision inside Jamie L. Roberts Stadium on the campus of St. Mary's (Md.).

Salisbury secured the game's first corner kick and tallied their first shot in the 14th minute, but the Shoremen withstood the attack, breaking the scoreless tie in the 28th minute when Tshazi Kamau connected with Dominic Miller to mark the opening tally.

The Sea Gulls outshot their Eastern Shore rival 8-4 including a 5-2 difference in the final 45 minutes and four second-half corner kicks, but Washington ultimately prevented the potential game-tying goal.

GAME NOTES
  • Brady Young and Old Dominion transfer Peter Beil led the Sea Gulls with two shots apiece in the loss.
  • Four other Sea Gulls tallied shots on the afternoon, including the first career shot for Kai Lindsay.
  • Clif Nehman made his first career start in goal for the Sea Gulls, playing the full 90 minutes and making one save.
Salisbury readies for another tough task next Saturday, hitting the road to face the 18th-ranked Messiah University Falcons. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. on Shoemaker Field in Grantham, Pa.
