CLEVELAND – Behind strong postseason showings from three of its fall teams, Salisbury University wrapped up the 2024 calendar year with a
25th-place ranking in the Learfield Directors' Cup standings for NCAA Division III, as revealed by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) last month.
The Sea Gulls garnered
181.00 points toward the Directors' Cup through the end of fall 2024 competition, based on each institution's finish at the NCAA Championships. The total gives SU the 25th-most points among the 180 Division III programs that earned points during the fall championship season.
The Salisbury field hockey team earned the university 83 points by virtue of its appearance in the national semifinals, while Sea Gull football captured 73 points for making the national quarterfinals, and SU volleyball reeled in 25 points via its NCAA Tournament berth.
The Learfield Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the NACDA and
USA Today. Standings published midseason are unofficial, with the official standings published with the conclusion of the spring athletics season.
Salisbury University is a proud member of NCAA Division III with primary membership in the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference, along with affiliate membership in the New Jersey Athletic Conference (football, men's & women's swimming) and the Coastal Lacrosse Conference (men's lacrosse).
