Women’s Lacrosse extends winning streak to double digits

SALISBURY, Md. – Presenting Roadie Joes Rankings for the fourth Wednesday in March, featuring Salisbury women's lacrosse, men's lacrosse, and baseball.
 
Women's Lacrosse – 2nd | USA Lacrosse Magazine Division III Top 20, Mar. 23
Salisbury remained in the runner-up slot behind Middlebury as the rest of the top five [Tufts, Wesleyan (Conn.), William Smith] remained unchanged. In the latest IWLCA rankings, SU stood pat at four.
 
The Sea Gulls put together another impressive week with two victories over top-12 foes, first dispatching No. 5 William Smith 17-11 on Monday in Florida and then taking down No. 12 Franklin & Marshall 14-4 at home on Friday. Audrey Harrington captured Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) Offensive Player of the Week laurels largely on the back of her program record-tying seven goals in the William Smith game.
 
SU opened the new week with a shutdown 12-7 home dub over No. 22 Williams on Monday, improivng to 10-0 to start the campaign, and will return to action on Saturday, welcoming York (Pa.) to Sea Gull Stadium for a 3:30 p.m. opening draw control.
 
Men's Lacrosse – 3rd | USA Lacrosse Magazine Division III Top 20, Mar. 23
Salisbury held the line at third behind Tufts and Bowdoin; the top six slots in the media roll saw no movement. SU also maintained No. 5 in the most up-to-date USILA rankings.
 
The Sea Gulls combined for 41 goals over two runaway home victories over Colorado College (21-5) on Wednesday and Stevenson (20-9) on Saturday. Riley Strub went off in the Stevenson game to the tune of eight goals, giving himself 10 for the week.
 
After falling to Williams 14-10 on Tuesday, SU will finish off the month on Saturday against Trinity (Conn.) at 12 p.m. within the friendly confines of Sea Gull Stadium.
 
Baseball – 7th | D3baseball.com/NCBWA Top 25, Mar. 24
Salisbury skidded from fifth to seventh with 453 points, landing between No. 6 Shenandoah (465) and No. 8 Belhaven (433).
 
The Sea Gulls posted a 3-2 record for the week, capping a busy stretch with a doubleheader sweep of Haverford on Saturday. Bryce Sterling recorded saves in both ends of the twin bill, moving himself into second in program history with 12 career saves.
 
SU began a new week with a 7-6 win over Gwynedd Mercy. The Sea Gulls will now go to Ursinus on Wednesday before hosting Stockton on Thursday and visiting C2C foil Mary Washington on Saturday.
