LEXINGTON, Va. – The second-ranked Salisbury University women's lacrosse team endured its first loss of the 2025 campaign on Sunday afternoon, falling to the seventh-ranked Washington & Lee Generals on the road by a 13-7 final at Alston Parker Watt Field.
The Generals (2-1) found the game's first goal before
Regan McDonnell tied the ranked bout at one not quite five minutes into the matchup.
Audrey Harrington connected with
Grace Doyle four minutes later for SU's second finish before a W&L player-up tally returned the deadlock at two through 15 minutes.
The Sea Gulls (2-1) answered a four-goal General run in the second quarter with three straight goals, spanning across the intermission to tighten the affair to 6-5 with 7:14 to go in the third quarter.
Julianna Ott nabbed a solo score before the break, while Doyle logged an eight-meter marker and Harrington aided
Miranda Mears to power the three-goal swing.
The hosts used a 17-save effort from net-minder Iman Haddad to help maintain the momentum throughout the second stanza, eventually taking an 11-5 lead with under eight minutes to play.
Alexandra Parker dished an assist to Mears before notching her own free position score 37 seconds later, but the Generals would maintain the distance to win the contest.
