2025 C2C Women's Basketball Championship Preview

The Rundown

The second-seeded Salisbury University women's basketball team gets ready to chase its fifth conference championship at the 2025 Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) Tournament in Milwaukee, Wis. The Sea Gulls open tournament play against the third-seeded Mary Washington Eagles on Friday at 4:30 p.m. at the Bloechl Center on the campus of Mount Mary University.

  • Salisbury finished the 2024-25 regular season with an 11-13 record. 
  • The Sea Gulls went on a six-game win streak between Nov. 20th and Dec. 14th with only two of those wins being within one possession. 
  • Salisbury averages 55.5 points per game while shooting 35 percent from the field and 29 percent from three-point range. 
  • The Sea Gull defense averages nine steals per game while holding teams to just 25 percent from downtown
  • The Sea Gulls are 21-35 all-time against Mary Washington.
  • SU took down UMW in the last match-up on Feb. 1st on the road 51-45 which snapped a five-game losing streak against the Eagles.
  • In the home match-up on Jan. 11 this season the Sea Gulls fell 53-43. 
  • The tournament begins on Thursday with a battle between UC Santa Cruz and Mount Mary to see who will battle CNU in the other semifinal game. The winners of the semifinal games on Friday will meet in the 2025 C2C Conference Tournament Championship on Saturday at 2 p.m.
  • Salisbury is seeking its fifth conference championship and first since winning the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC, now C2C) crown in 2015.

The Salisbury women's basketball program tallied three student-athletes on the Coast-to-Coast All-Conference list with Nicole Miller and Abby Plaugher earning First Team while Alex Bull grabbed Second Team honors.

Miller, the sophomore from Medford, N.J., started all 24 games for the Sea Gulls this season averaging 13.5 points per game with two rebounds while shooting 40 percent from the field and 36 percent from three-point range. Both shooting percentages rank second for the Sea Gulls while the 324 total points on the season rank first for SU. Miller earned C2C Player of the Week once this season while also posting a career-high in the team's last outing against CNU with 28 points.

Plaugher, the sophomore from Lansdale, Pa., appeared in all 24 games for SU making nine starts averaging 12.9 points and 4.7 rebounds per game. Plaugher added 34 steals and 33 assists with her season-high 20 points coming against Randolph-Macon on Feb.13th. She also posted a career-high in rebounds against Stevenson with 12 on Dec. 4th. Plaugher's 310 points on the season rank second on the team behind Miller while her 112 rebounds rank third.

Bull, the senior from Eldersburg, Md., started all 23 games she appeared in this season averaging 6.9 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game. Her season-high 15 points came against Franklin & Marshall on Jan. 4th while her career-high in rebounds with 10 came on Dec. 14th against Penn State Harrisburg. Her 111 rebounds on the season rank fourth for the Sea Gulls while her 50 assists rank second.
