MILWAUKEE, Wi. - The Salisbury women's basketball program saw its season come to an end with a 56-50 loss against Mary Washington Friday afternoon in the Coast-to-Coast Conference Tournament Semifinals.
The Sea Gulls came out with a strong first half, outscoring the Eagles in both the first and second quarters. SU shot 50 percent from the field in the first quarter while posting a blistering 75 percent in the second. During that time, the defense was able to hold Mary Washington to 36 percent in the first and just a 24 percent clip in the second.
Salisbury held onto a 27-22 lead at the halftime break. The Eagles' offense caught fire in the third quarter, turning their shooting around. UMW shot 60 percent from the field in the third, hitting their only two three-point baskets of the game, while the Sea Gulls struggled, shooting only 28 percent from the field. The Eagles outscored the Sea Gulls 22-6 for the quarter, which started with a 13-0 run out of the halftime break.
SU tried to storm back in the fourth, but the 11-point deficit heading into the final quarter of action was too much to overcome.

Tori Rumbaugh tallied 10 points, three assists, two rebounds, and two steals.

Kayla Nieberlein also posted 10 points while also adding five rebounds.

Jen Juhring posted a solid all-around night with seven points, seven rebounds, four assists, two steals, and a block.
The Sea Gulls finished the 2024-25 season 11-14, with
Abby Plaugher, Nicole Miller, and
Alex Bull earning All-Conference honors.
