Women’s Tennis rolls Goucher, 7-0

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University women's tennis team won their third straight dual match overall with a 7-0 sweep of the Goucher Gophers on Friday afternoon at the SU Outdoor Tennis Center.

MATCH NOTES
  • The Sea Gulls captured the doubles point by taking two-of-three matches. Evelyn Whiteside and Lily Muir made easy work of second doubles (6-0), while Denise Yongbi and Elizabeth Coligan breezed through third doubles (6-1).
  • Gibelle Beaujon set the tone from first singles by taking down Natalia Navarro in straight sets (6-1, 6-1).
  • Olivia Hall (6-2, 6-3), Muir (6-1, 6-0), and Whiteside (6-4, 6-2) each needed just two sets to win in second, third, and fourth singles, respectively.
  • Ridgley Lake (2-6, 6-3, 10-5) in fifth and Katherine Raab (5-7, 6-1, 10-4) in sixth made it a perfect singles day for SU.

The Sea Gulls will stay home to face Shenandoah on Sunday; the match was moved from Winchester, Va., to Salisbury earlier in the week due to an inclement forecast in Winchester. First serve from the SU Indoor Tennis Center will be at 2 p.m.
