Women’s Tennis stings Shenandoah, 6-1

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University women's tennis team won its fourth straight dual match dating back to the fall, besting the Shenandoah Hornets 6-1 on Sunday afternoon at the SU Indoor Tennis Center.
 
MATCH NOTES
  • The Sea Gulls swept all three doubles matches to win the first point. Gibelle Beaujon and Olivia Hall (6-4) muscled their way through first doubles, while Lily Muir and Evelyn Whiteside (6-1) took care of business in second doubles, as did Ridgley Lake and Katherine Raab (6-3) in third doubles.
  • Beaujon breezed through Tanea Spruill (6-3, 6-1) in first singles, and Muir picked up a three-set victory in third singles over Allison Cherwien (6-0, 4-6, 6-1).
  • Whiteside clinched the match for Salisbury in fourth singles, taking down Erin Talko (6-0, 6-2).
  • Lake (6-1, 6-0) and Raab (6-0, 6-2) secured triumphs in fifth and sixth singles, respectively.
 
The Sea Gulls will continue what is now a six-match homestand on Saturday against Gettysburg. First serve from Salisbury is marked for 1 p.m.
