SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University women's tennis team stuck to its winning ways with another convincing home victory, grounding the Bryn Mawr Owls 7-0 on Monday afternoon at the SU Outdoor Tennis Center.
MATCH NOTES
- The Sea Gulls captured the match's first point by sweeping the three doubles bouts. Lily Muir and Evelyn Whiteside wrapped things up first in second doubles (6-1), followed by Gibelle Beaujon and Olivia Hall in first doubles (6-2) and Ridgley Lake and Katherine Raab in third doubles (7-5).
- Muir locked down the first singles point by besting Kelli Eng (6-0, 6-1) in third singles.
- Beaujon (6-2, 6-4) and Hall (6-3, 6-2) assured SU of the clinch with easy victories in first and second singles, respectively.
- Lake (7-5, 6-1) in fifth singles and Raab (6-1, 7-5) in sixth took straight-sets wins with one lopsided fixture and one close one.
- Whiteside finished off the perfect afternoon by topping Claire Emanuel (6-3, 4-6, 10-4) in fourth singles.
The Sea Gulls will wrap up their six-match homestand on Friday against Virginia Wesleyan. First serve from the SU Outdoor Tennis Center is set for 2 p.m.
