No. 2 Men's Lacrosse stifles No. 19 Denison, 15-7

SALISBURY, Md. - The second-ranked Salisbury University men's lacrosse team checked off its ninth straight victory to begin the 2025 campaign, earning a 15-7 win over 19th-ranked Denison on Tuesday evening at Sea Gull Stadium.

The Big Red (3-3) netted the first two goals of the contest before John DeFazio punched in his ninth career goal to get the hosts on the board. Denison answered the score with their third of the opening quarter two minutes later, taking a 3-1 lead at the 8:47 mark in the first period.

The Sea Gulls (9-0) rattled off four straight goals to snatch a 5-3 advantage at quarter's end, led by three points (one goal, two assists) from Connor Herraiz and two goals from Ryan Della in the stretch. Ty Keaton scored to tie the game at three in the midst of the rally while Brice Bromwell tallied a pair of assists in the run.

Nicholas Ransom stepped up for SU in a 4-0 second quarter favoring the maroon and gold, with SU's graduate net-minder piling up eight saves in the frame. Bromwell sent in a pair of solo goals across just over six minutes, while Riley Strub and Trent Lucovich entered the fray of Sea Gull scorers to set the halftime margin at six, 9-3.

Della found the onion bag twice in 78 seconds to open the second half and Bromwell cashed in on an extra-man opportunity to push the SU run to 11-0 spanning nearly 30 minutes of action and the SU advantage to 12-3 less than four minutes into the third quarter. Bromwell aided goals from Della and Herraiz to offset a pair of Big Red goals and Strub netted his second strike in the fourth to help insure the eventual 15-7 win.
