Women’s Tennis continues hot spring, sweeps Gettysburg

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University women's tennis team remained undefeated in the spring season, winning every set across all nine matches to take a 7-0 sweep over the Gettysburg Bullets on Saturday afternoon at the SU Outdoor Tennis Center.
 
MATCH NOTES
  • The Sea Gulls made quick work of the Bullets in doubles play. Gibelle Beaujon and Olivia Hall (6-1) set the tone from first doubles, while Evelyn Whiteside and Lily Muir (6-1) breezed through second doubles, and Denise Yongbi and Elizabeth Coligan (6-3) took care of business in third doubles.
  • Beaujon and Whiteside posted perfect marks in first and fourth singles, respectively, each winning by 6-0, 6-0 margins.
  • Muir in third singles and Ridgley Lake in fifth singles each won in straight sets with identical 6-4, 6-0 lines.
  • Hall took second singles in straight sets (6-2, 6-1), and Katherine Raab (6-2, 6-2) made it a perfect SU afternoon in sixth singles.
 
The Sea Gulls will host their second match in three days when Bryn Mawr pays a visit on Monday. First serve from the SU Tennis Center is set for 2 p.m.
