No. 11 Softball soars past Washington (Md.)

SALISBURY, Md. – The No. 11 Salisbury University softball program picked up a mid-week sweep over Washington College (Md.) Wednesday afternoon inside Margie Knight Sea Gull Softball Stadium. The Sea Gulls took both games in five innings 8-0 and 13-2 over the Shorewomen.

In the first five-inning win for the Sea Gulls, Emily Stockman got the bats going in the bottom of the first with a three-run home run to left center field. Emily Challender, who had doubled to lead things off, came around to score along with Sam Flowers, who had drawn a walk. 

SU would add three more runs in the third, which was led off by a solo home run from Em. Stockman. Two more runs in the fourth clinched the win, which included Karlie Wolfe earning an RBI with Hailey Burke coming around to score.

Sydney Adolfson improved her record to 10-0 on the season, getting the win in the circle. Adolfson only gave up four hits in her five innings of work.

Game One Notes
- This is Adolfson's third shutout win on the season. 
- Em. Stockman finished with three hits and four RBIs.
- Ellen Stockman posted three hits.

The Sea Gull offense kept rolling in game two, scoring two runs in the second, four in the third, and exploding for seven in the fourth to eventually end the game early. Lexie Delcollo and Morgan Moxley each earned an RBI in the second for SU. Delcollo and Moxley would also earn RBIs in the third while Jillian Dawson picked up two RBIs on a stand-up triple. 

El. Stockman racked up two RBIs to get things started in the fourth. Delcollo and Dawson would go on to earn RBIs along with Madison Lepeonka. Rachel Keller added to the party with a two RBI double. 

Justyce Richard earned the win for the Sea Gulls in the circle going four innings with two strikeouts.

Game Two Notes
- Richard improves to 4-0 on the season for the Sea Gulls.
- Dawson finished with three hits, three RBIs, and three runs.
- Delcollo finished with two hits, three RBIs, and three runs.
- This is the ninth game this season that SU has tallied double-digit hits, and the sixth game they have scored 10 or more runs.

The Sea Gulls are back at home for a busy weekend, hosting six games in two days. On Saturday, March 29th, SU will host Manhattanville at 11:30 before taking on Cortland at 3:30 for Epilepsy & Traumatic Brain Injury Awareness Day. On Sunday, March 30th, the Sea Gulls will battle Cortland at 1 p.m. and Manhattanville at 3 p.m. for Youth Day.
