SALISBURY, Md. - The No. 11 Salisbury University softball program picked up two wins Saturday afternoon inside Margie Knight Sea Gull Softball Stadium on Epilepsy & Traumatic Brain Injury Awareness Day. The Sea Gulls took game one 6-1 over Manhattanville University before taking down SUNY Cortland University 8-0 in five innings while honoring their favorite teammate, Unbreakable Emerson Thomas.
In the game one win,
Sydney Adolfson racked up her 11th win in another complete game effort. Adolfson tallied three strikeouts while only allowing one earned run. The offense started early in the first as
Emily Challender led things off with a single and would come around to score off an RBI single from
Emily Stockman. The Sea Gulls held on to that 1-0 lead until the sixth inning.
Manhattanville was able to tie things up 1-1 in the top of the sixth inning before the Salisbury offense stormed back with five runs in the bottom of the inning. The Sea Gulls took the lead after Challender earned an RBI after getting hit by a pitch, and
Sam Flowers followed that with an RBI single.
Carrie Jacoby then opened the game up with a three-RBI double, securing the victory. SU scored every run in the sixth with two outs.
Game One Notes
- Adolfson now boasts a 1.02 ERA.
- Jacoby finished with two hits and three RBIs.
- Em. Stockman, Flowers, and
Ellen Stockman all posted a two-hit game.
In the game two victory over Cortland,
Justyce Richard picked up the win in the circle, only giving up two hits in four innings of work while earning two strikeouts. The Sea Gull offense posted five runs in the second inning to jump out early on the Red Dragons. Challender picked up two RBIs in the inning while Jacoby added one.
Karlie Wolfe added to the lead in the fourth inning with a two-RBI single. In the fifth, Flowers would reach on an error and would also come around to score on an error to end the game in five innings.
Game Two Notes
- Richard moves to 5-0 on the season.
- Jacoby tallied another two-hit game.

Jillian Dawson also added a hit each.
The Sea Gulls are back at home tomorrow to battle Cortland at 1 p.m. and Manhattanville at 3 p.m. for Youth Day.
