SALISBURY, Md. - The No. 11 Salisbury University softball program extended its win streak to 10 games after picking up an extra-inning victory 4-3, over SUNY Cortland University before outlasting Manhattanville University 5-1 Sunday afternoon inside Margie Knight Sea Gull Softball Stadium on Youth Day.
In the extra-inning game one win over the Red Dragons,
Sydney Adolfson went all eight innings in the circle, earning the victory. Adolfson posted four strikeouts while only allowing two earned runs. The Sea Gull offense struck first in the bottom of the first off an RBI from
Emily Stockman, scoring
Emily Challender, who earned a walk to lead things off.
Both teams would score two runs each in the second inning.
Karlie Wolfe led off the second inning with a solo shot to tie things up, while
Camille Jones would come around to score on an error from the Red Dragons to regain the lead for the Sea Gulls.
SU held on to the 3-2 lead until the 6th inning when Cortland was able to tie things up with a run. In the top of the eighth inning, Adolfson faced runners on second and third with two outs and struck the Cortland batter out to keep the game even. Salisbury would walk the game off with Jones coming to score off a Challender sacrifice bunt.
Game One Notes
- That is the ninth complete game victory for Adolfson.
- The Sea Gulls only tallied three hits but capitalized on four errors from the Red Dragons.

Lexie Delcollo tallied a hit each for SU.
In the game two win over Manhattanville,
Justyce Richard earned her first complete game victory in the circle. Richard tallied five strikeouts while only allowing one earned run on three hits. Manhattanville scored one run in the top of the first inning, which turned out to be the only run they would score all game.
In the bottom of the first, the Sea Gulls answered with two runs to regain the lead.
Ellen Stockman and Wolfe picked up RBIs in the inning. SU also scored two more runs in the second inning off a two-run home run from
Carrie Jacoby. Jones would add an insurance run in the fourth after hitting a single to lead things off and coming around to score after stealing home.
Game Two Notes
- Neither team committed an error in the game.
- Jacoby finished with two hits, two RBIs, and two runs.
- Jones tallied two hits and a run while Flowers earned two runs and a hit.
The Sea Gulls are back in action for a top-15 showdown when they travel to No. 5 Virginia Wesleyan University on Wednesday, April 2nd, with game one set for 2:30 p.m.
