No. 31 Men’s Tennis wins fifth straight, blanks Gettysburg

SALISBURY, Md. – The 31st-ranked Salisbury University men's tennis team won its fifth straight dual match to start the 2025 season, shutting out the Gettysburg Bullets, 7-0, on Saturday afternoon at the SU Outdoor Tennis Center.
 
MATCH NOTES
  • The Sea Gulls won two of the three doubles matches to claim the showdown's first point. Asher Willenborg and Jhayden Pappas (6-1) breezed through first doubles, and Aron Bursztyn and Gurv Suri (6-2) secured the point in third doubles.
  • Willenborg (6-2, 6-3) and Pappas (6-2, 6-1) each picked up their second wins of the day by sweeping first and second singles, respectively.
  • Suri (6-1, 6-1) notched his own daily double with a straight-sets turn in third singles.
  • Gianluca Beaujon (6-0, 6-4) swept his way through fourth singles, while Nicholas O'Dea in fifth (6-0, 6-1) and Christopher Catan in sixth (6-3, 6-4) wrapped up a perfect singles run for SU.
 
The Sea Gulls will play on back-to-back days, hosting a Sunday tilt against Averett. First serve from the SU Outdoor Tennis Center is set for 11 a.m., an hour later from its original start time.
