Women’s Tennis upended by No. 69 UMW

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University women's tennis team captured one doubles match but couldn't get a consistent foothold, falling to the 69th-ranked Mary Washington Eagles 7-0 on Saturday afternoon at the SU Indoor Tennis Center.
 
MATCH NOTES
  • Despite dropping two-of-three doubles fixtures, Lily Muir and Evelyn Whiteside picked up a dub in their second doubles tilt, 6-4 over Sophia Broomall and Linda Dimitroff.
  • Whiteside fared best in singles play as well, pushing Jacey Copeland to a tiebreaking set in fourth singles before ultimately coming up short (5-7, 6-4, 10-5).
 
The Sea Gulls will return to action in 10 days, hosting Marymount (Va.) on Tuesday, Apr. 22, with first serve at 3 p.m.
