No. 1 Men’s Lacrosse sends off St. Mary’s (Md.), 15-7

Ransom reaches sixth in program history in career saves in win

SALISBURY, Md. – The top-ranked Salisbury University men's lacrosse team remained unbeaten in the 2025 campaign with a 15-7 win over the visiting Seahawks of St. Mary's (Md.) on Tuesday evening, adding a 15th consecutive victory to its resume in the final home contest of the regular season.

The Sea Gulls (15-0, 4-0 CLC) began the scoring exactly how the SU faithful expected – with a Nicholas Ransom find of Evan Huffman who caught the Seahawk keeper outside the crease and fired from beyond midfield to give SU the early edge. Riley Strub tallied his eighth assist of the season to Connor Herraiz not three minutes later to push the Sea Gull lead to two with 9:32 left in the first quarter.

The Seahawks (7-6, 2-0 United East) snuck their first goal into the cage just over a minute later, a tally that awakened a 5-0 Sea Gull run to end the frame. Strub's 100th career goal began the surge that also featured a pair of goals from Herraiz and markers from Chris Wong and Michael Leahy, widening the margin to six through 15 minutes.

SMCM responded with a pair of quick scores separated by 22 seconds less than three minutes into the second quarter. After over 11 scoreless minutes, Brice Bromwell called his own number to set the halftime score, 8-3.

Bromwell and Leahy paced the Sea Gulls with a pair of points each in the third quarter, with the latter scoring twice on helpers from Wong and John DeFazio to help SU outpace their guests 4-2 in the frame. The three-headed monster of Herraiz, Leahy and Strub continued to produce in the fourth to secure the 15-7 win.
