No. 8 Softball rolls past Messiah in solo bout

SALISBURY, Md. - The No. 8 Salisbury University softball program cruised to a 7-0 victory over Messiah University in a solo game Thursday afternoon inside Margie Knight Sea Gull Softball Stadium. 

Once again, Sydney Adolfson tallied a complete game victory, only allowing three hits with four strikeouts. The Sea Gull offense got rolling in the third, posting three runs. 

Emily Challender started the rally with a double to left center field, followed by a single from Carrie Jacoby. Challender would come around to score on a throwing error after stealing third, while Jacoby scored off an RBI single from Emily Stockman. Lexie Delcollo also racked up an RBI in the inning. 

SU later exploded for four runs in the fifth inning. Em. Stockman and Ellen Stockman started the rally with a pair of singles. Delcollo later singled to load the bases. Madison Lepeonka tallied two RBIs in a pinch-hit opportunity, adding to the lead. Adolfson then helped her on cause with an RBI, while Erin Doherty picked up the last RBI of the inning. 

Game Notes
- Adolfson earned her 17th win of the season, 14th complete game, and 6th shutout. 
- The Stockmans combined for five hits and an RBI.
- Jillian Dawson and Morgan Moxley also tallied a hit each. 

The Sea Gulls are right back in action tomorrow at Ursinus with game one set for 3 p.m.
