No. 8 Softball wraps up final road stand with sweep over Ursinus

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. -  The No. 8 Salisbury University softball program capped off its final road trip of the 2025 season with a sweep over Ursinus College Friday afternoon at Snell Softball Field. The Sea Gulls took game one 5-0 over the Bears before taking game two 8-0 in six innings.

SU erupted for four runs in the third inning to break open the scoring. The rally started with back-to-back doubles from Emily Challender and Sam Flowers. The double from Flowers scored Challender before Flowers would come around to score on an RBI single from Emily Stockman.

Em. Stockman would come around to score on an error, while Taylor Scott, who singled earlier in the inning, would score on a double steal. The Sea Gulls tacked on one more in the seventh with Ellen Stockman earning an RBI single after Em. Stockman led off with a double.

Sydney Adolfson earned another complete-game shutout in the circle with six strikeouts.

Game One Notes
  • Adolfson has now gone four games in a row without giving up a run while going the distance in each start.
  • Challender finished with two hits and a run, while Flowers posted a hit, an RBI, and a run.
  • Both Stockman sisters had two hits and an RBI.
  • The Bears made three errors compared to the Sea Gulls' zero.
SU also shut out Ursinus in a short game two. Justyce Richard went five innings, earning the win, only allowing four hits with two strikeouts. Isabella Purdy wrapped the game up in the sixth inning for the Sea Gulls.

The Salisbury offense got rolling early, posting five runs in the second inning. With the bases loaded and one out, Jacoby blasted a grand slam into left field to lift the Sea Gulls to an early lead.

Jillian Dawson led off with a single in the fourth inning and would come around to score on an RBI double from Flowers. Jacoby kept her bat hot, bringing in Flowers to score on a double to left field.

Game Two Notes
  • Richard earned her 10th win of the season.
  • Jacoby finished with three hits and five RBIs.
  • Dawson posted three hits, one RBI, and two stolen bases, while Flowers tallied two hits with two RBIs.
  • SU posted nine hits in each game with no errors.
The Sea Gulls are back in action for Senior Day inside Margie Knight Sea Gull Softball Stadium on Saturday, May 3rd, to take on Coast-to-Coast foe CNU. Game one is set for 2 p.m.
