No. 7 Women’s Lacrosse strolls past UMW in regular season finale, 18-9

SU clinches top seed in 2025 C2C Championships on Senior Day

SALISBURY, Md. – The seventh-ranked Salisbury University women's lacrosse team took care of business in its final game of the 2025 regular season, cruising past the Eagles of Mary Washington by an 18-9 tally to secure the top seed in the 2025 Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) Championships.

Prior to the game, the team honored its six graduating members – Alexandra Parker, Ellery Stamp, Madison Hare, Caroline Daly, Natalie Held and Carly Hoffman – as part of the day's Senior Day festivities.

The Sea Gulls (12-4, 2-0 C2C) logged the first two goals of the bout, courtesy of Grace Doyle and Audrey Harrington, to snag an early edge through just over three minutes. The Eagles (11-6, 0-2 C2C) netted three goals from the 9:46 mark to the opening stanza's conclusion, but Regan McDonnell and Miranda Mears helped steady the ship to establish a 4-3 SU lead through 15 minutes.

SU delivered a heavy blow to the Eagles in the second quarter, opening the frame with six straight deposits into the onion bag. Mears and Julianna Ott punched in pairs to join Harrington and Hoffman in the scoring column before the Eagles added their fourth to set the halftime line, 10-4.

UMW managed just one tally in the third while six more Sea Gull strikes found their mark, including three consecutive scores to begin the quarter from Hoffman, McDonnell and Liz Haney. Ott logged her third finish from the eight-meter before Harrington and Avery Dunbar maintained the momentum, granting a 16-5 lead to the hosts through 45 minutes.

The Eagles mustered four goals in the final period, but Dunbar and McDonnell helped keep the margin wide and finalize the 18-9 decision.
