No. 7 Women’s Lacrosse sees six Sea Gulls dubbed IWLCA All-Region

SU lands five Chesapeake region first-teamers

NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – The seventh-ranked Salisbury University women's lacrosse team carved out six spots on the 2025 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Chesapeake Region teams, announced by the organization on Friday afternoon.

Five of SU's six honorees landed on the All-Chesapeake First Team. Audrey Harrington, Miranda Mears and Julianna Ott represented the Sea Gull attack on the region's top squad while Abby Fleishell represented the Sea Gull defense and Paige Ellis carved out the region's top goalie spot. Regan McDonnell also secured an All-Region nod on the second team.

Harrington, a junior from Ellicott City, Md., garnered an Honorable Mention All-American nod from USA Lacrosse Magazine as well as the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference's (C2C) Offensive Player of the Year accolade after stacking up 69 points on 32 goals and 37 helpers while leading all Sea Gulls with over 20 shots in shot-on-goal percentage (.789). The Mount Hebron product stepped up in the season's biggest moment so far, netting last Sunday's game-winning goal over Haverford with just seven seconds left in regulation to complete her sixth hat trick of the campaign and guide the Sea Gulls to the regional round.

Mears, a junior from Salisbury's Parkside High School, leads her team with 44 goals across 19 appearances and a crisp 53.0 shot percentage that leads all Sea Gulls with more than 20 attempts this season. Mears also provided a critical offensive boost for SU, firing three goals in the third round for her eighth effort with three or more goals in 2025 and the 15th of her Sea Gull career.

Ott, a junior from Woodbine, Md., secures her first career All-Region honor after a banner year with the Sea Gulls, posting 42 points on 39 goals and three assists. She has also dominated the draw circle for Salisbury with a team and career-high 73 controls, securing three or more in 14 games this season. Ott fired two goals for her third straight multi-goal effort while securing four draws against Haverford on Sunday.

Fleishell, a junior from Sykesville, Md., has quickly become a star in the Sea Gull backline, totaling 39 ground balls and causing 32 turnovers while trailing only Ott with 56 draw controls across 19 starts. She followed up her C2C Defensive Player of the Year choice by securing First-Team All-American honors from USA Lacrosse Magazine, her first career All-America nod.

Ellis, a junior from Fairfax, Va., was named the C2C's top net-watcher in her first season as the starter in goal, joining her defensive group to tout an 8.53 GAA this season. She holds a 13-4 record with 114 saves at a 44.9 percent clip with six games of eight or more stops.

McDonnell, a sophomore from Severna Park, Md., has done it all for SU in her second season of collegiate lacrosse, posting totals of 29 points on 25 goals and four assists, 37 draw controls, 29 ground balls and 26 caused turnovers. McDonnell enters the regional weekend on a tear, stacking nine goals, 10 draw controls, seven caused turnovers and five ground balls in her last four outings.

The Sea Gulls take on St. John Fisher in the regional semifinal tomorrow, May 17th at 10:30 a.m. at Bello Field in Medford, Mass. on the campus of Tufts University. The winner advances to Sunday's regional title tilt with a spot in the national semifinal on the line.
