2025 SEASON PREVIEW

Field Hockey Elite 8 win

Salisbury finished the 2024 season at 17-3 overall, reaching a 39th overall and 30th consecutive NCAA Tournament while making the NCAA Semifinals for the 16th time in program history and first time since 2019. The Sea Gulls fell 2-1 against the defending National Champions, Middlebury College, last season in the Final Four. Salisbury earned the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament last season with a 2-1 victory (4-3 in penalty strokes) over No. 5 Christopher Newport in the C2C Championship. The Gulls then defeated No. 13 Lynchburg 3-0 in the NCAA second round before slipping past the Captains in the regional final to secure a spot in the final four. This will be the first year the Sea Gulls compete in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) as an associate member in field hockey, adding a fresh conference slate of opponents. SU was picked as the preseason favorite in the conference, as well as being tabbed the No. 3 team in the country from the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) preseason poll.
