WESTMINSTER, Md. – The Salisbury University women's basketball program fell 89-52 on the road at McDaniel College Wednesday night inside the Gill Center.
The Sea Gulls (10-5) struggled early, only knocking down three field goals in the first quarter. The Green Terror (12-1) forced five turnovers in the quarter and headed into the second quarter of action with a 29-6 lead.
The SU offense gained momentum in the second quarter, shooting 46 percent from the floor, but McDaniel was able to build on their lead, taking a 57-22 lead into the halftime break.
The Green Terror built on their lead in the third, but the Sea Gulls were able to outscore McDaniel 18-11 in the final quarter of action.
Game Notes
- Nicole Miller led the Sea Gulls with 11 points.
- Kisa Lilly scored 10 points with three rebounds and four steals.
- Kayla Nieberlein posted eight points and a team-high six rebounds.
- The Green Terror shot 53 percent from the floor while the Sea Gulls shot 35.
- SU also lost the rebound battle 42-26.
The Sea Gulls are back on the road a week from today, on Jan. 14th, when they travel to Notre Dame of Maryland University with a start time set for 5 p.m.
