SALISBURY, Md. – The fifth-ranked Salisbury University baseball team opened its 2026 campaign with a high-octane attack on Saturday afternoon at Donnie Williams Sea Gull Baseball Stadium, sweeping a pair from the Moravian Greyhounds 30-0 and 13-0 in a pair of seven-inning affairs.
GAME ONE
The Sea Gulls broke through with their first big inning of the year in the second.
Conner Seeley and
Jay Newton led off with back-to-back singles and scored ahead of a two-run double by
Trent Waire. Then after a sac bunt, groundout, and walk,
Nathan Tondreault rolled an RBI single through the right side.
Jackson Inman followed with a two-run triple to dead center and scored on a bad throw to put SU up 6-0.
SU tacked on two more in the third as Newton tripled one home and scored on a sac fly by Waire to go ahead 8-0. Then in the fourth the Gulls put up a five-spot to make it 13-0, highlighted by a two-run homer by Seeley.
From there Salisbury poured it on with 12 in the fifth and five in the sixth, clearing the 30-run plateau for the first time in three years on the way to winning in seven.
Game Notes
- Jackson Inman finished a home run shy of the cycle, going 3-for-4 with a double, two triples, three runs, and four RBIs from the Sea Gulls' three-hole.
- Conner Seeley belted a two-run homer and finished 2-for-3 with three runs scored in his SU debut.
- TJ Morris cracked a three-run blast and finished with four RBIs coming off the bench.
- Max Ehrhardt went 2-for-5 with a double, two RBIs, and four runs scored.
- Nathan Tondreault doubled, scored three runs, and drove in one more as part of a 2-for-4 game.
- Cole Swift stole two of Salisbury's six bases in the game.
- Jack Rucker (1-0) finished off three scoreless one-hit innings for the dub. He walked one and fanned four on 48 pitches.
- Tyler Villa powered through four innings in his start, surrendering two hits and three walks while striking out seven on 76 pitches.
- SU eclipsed 30 runs for the first time since registering a 35-6 win at Washington College on Mar. 23, 2023.
GAME TWO
Salisbury again struck its initial blow in the second inning. With two out and a man on second,
Trent Waire roped a single down the third base line; he was thrown out trying to stretch it into a double, but the run scored ahead of the tag to put SU in front 1-0.
The Sea Gulls then landed a pair of three-spots in the fourth and fifth. In the fourth,
Jackson Inman plated one on a sac fly then after a double, single, and double steal,
Jay Newton brought one home on a groundout and one more scored on a wild pitch to make it 4-0. Then in the fifth with men on the corners and one out,
Nathan Tondreault beat out an RBI fielder's choice, followed by a run-scoring double by Inman and an RBI knock by
Max Ehrhardt to boost the margin to 7-0.
A pinch-hit two-run double by
Mike Delgaudio highlighted a six-run sixth for SU, who locked down another early victory and finished off a combined no-hitter with a scoreless seventh.

- Aidan Brinsfield (1-0) flashed dominant stuff through six no-hit innings, walking two and striking out seven on 83 pitches.
- Cole Williams put up a zero in the seventh to complete SU's second seven-inning combined no-hitter in as many seasons. Salisbury no-hit William Peace 14-1 in seven innings behind three pitchers on Mar. 12, 2025.
The Sea Gulls will face a trio of stiff early-season tests at the D3 Showcase in Greensboro, N.C. Salisbury will battle No. 6 Lynchburg on Friday at 8 p.m., followed by No. 3 Denison on Saturday and Marietta on Sunday.
