LOUISVILLE, Ky. – After being the key catalyst offensively in a 15-12 win over No. 10 Gettysburg,
Riley Strub of the second-ranked Salisbury University men's lacrosse team earned a midfield spot on the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) Division III Team of the Week, announced on Wednesday afternoon.
Strub, a senior from Darien, Conn., had his fingerprints on seven of SU's 15 scores on Saturday, finding twine five times and dishing out two helpers. Strub scored the final goal of the game to put the contest out of reach and picked up a career-high five ground balls.
Strub secures his second career national weekly honor and leads the Maroon and Gold with 13 goals through four games played.
The Sea Gulls will close out February at home on Saturday with a bout against tenth-ranked Lynchburg, during which the team will honor the 35th anniversary of the 1991 Salisbury State team that advanced to the national championship game for the first time in program history. Opening faceoff from Sea Gull Stadium is slated for 1 p.m.
