SALISBURY, Md. - The Salisbury University women's basketball program fell 73-57 in the Coast-to-Coast Conference Tournament Championship against Christopher Newport University Saturday night inside Maggs Gymnasium.
The Sea Gulls (17-11) jumped out to an early 13-6 lead in the first quarter, feeding off an electric home crowd. The Captains (23-4) would contain the the hot start from SU, with a 10-2 run in the final three minutes of the quarter to earn a 16-15 advantage heading into the second quarter of action. SU shot 43 percent from the floor in the quarter, while CNU posted a 67 percent shooting clip.
The second quarter started with three lead changes and one tie, before the Captains closed the final five minutes of the half on a 13-4 run. They won the quarter 20-11 and earned a 10-point lead at the halftime break.
The Captains carried that momentum into the third quarter, outscoring the Sea Gulls 22-7, giving them a 25-point lead heading into the final quarter of play. The Sea Gulls comeback would fall shot, as they went on to win the fourth quarter 24-15, but was not enough to overcome the third quarter deficit.

Nicole Miller, led all scorers with 20 points, shooting 60 percent from the floor.

Abby Plaugher was the other lone Sea Gull in double figures with 10 points, while adding three rebounds and two assists.

- SU finished the contest shooting 41 percent from the floor and 40 percent from three-point range.
- CNU won the rebound battle 32-27.
The Sea Gulls wrap up the 2025-26 campaign at 17-11 with the first C2C Tournament Championship appearance since 2015. This is also the first season SU has finished the season above .500 since 2021-22.
