SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University women's tennis team saw its lineup lock in from top to bottom en route to cruising through the Shenandoah Hornets, 6-1, on Saturday afternoon at the SU Outdoor Tennis Center.
MATCH NOTES
- The Sea Gulls took the doubles point with ease by sweeping all three matches. Gibelle Beaujon and Cleo Solomon made quick work of first doubles, 6-0. Second doubles saw Olivia Hall and Evelyn Whiteside pull out a 6-4 triumph, while Katherine Raab and Leah Osmon handled third doubles with ease, 6-2.
- Beaujon (6-1, 6-0), Solomon (6-3, 6-2), and Hall (7-5, 6-3) clinched the match for SU with straight-sets dubs in first, second, and third singles, respectively.
- In fourth singles, Whiteside battled to a tiebreak win in her first set on the way to a 7-6 (8-6), 6-2 win over the Hornets' Samantha Calvert.
- Osmon bounced back from a first-set defeat to book it over Kendra Gillette in fifth singles by a 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 score.
The Sea Gulls will play back-to-back weekend matches and host Albright on Sunday afternoon, with first serve from the SU Outdoor Tennis Center set for 12:30 p.m.
