BIRMINGHAM, Al. - The Salisbury University opened up the Division III Indoor National Championships inside the Birmingham Crossplex in style.
Mia Hill earned second team All-American honors in the long jump, while both
Kai Smith and
Gavin Shaffer earned a spot in the finals tomorrow.
Hill placed 11th in the long jump at 5.49 meters (18-0 ¼) to earn the All-American honors. Smith earned a spot in the finals in both the 60-meter and 200-meter. His prelim 200-meter time of 21.09 was a school record and placed him second heading into the finals tomorrow. His 6.7 time in the 60-meter dash placed him fifth heading into the finals. Shaffer posted a time of 8.04 in the 60-meter hurdles to earn his spot in the finals, seeded sixth.

Men's 60 Meter Hurdles (Shaffer - 10:40 a.m.), Men's 60/200 Meters (Smith 60-meter - 11:10 a.m./200-meter - 5:25 p.m.), Women's Triple Jump (Marlyse Haack - 2 p.m.)
