BIRMINGHAM, Al. - The Salisbury University track & field program wrapped up the Division III Indoor National Championships inside the Birmingham Crossplex in style, earning multiple All-American honors.
Marlyse Haack earned second-team All-American honors in the triple jump, while both
Kai Smith and
Gavin Shaffer also earned All-American honors in their events. Smith tallied first-team honors in both the 60-meter and 200-meter, while Shaffer earned his honors in the 60-meter hurdles.
Mia Hill tallied second-team All-American honors yesterday in the long jump.
Haack placed 10th in the triple jump at 11.65 meters (38-2 ¾) to earn the All-American honors. Smith tallied 3rd in the 60-meter with a time of 6.73 and earned 4th in the 200-meter with a time of 21.19. Shaffer posted a time of 9.50 in the 60-meter hurdles to earn his First-Team All-American honors, placing 7th. Hill placed 11th in the long jump at 5.49 meters (18-0 ¼) to earn the All-American honors yesterday.
The Sea Gulls wrap up the indoor season, posting five All-American honors on top of 16 All-Region honors in a season that posted multiple school and conference records. These four seniors conclude their Sea Gull indoor career on a high note and now shift their focus to the outdoor season and returning to the national stage.
