Men's Tennis Will DeBoer

Men’s Tennis axes Puget Sound, 6-1

TACOMA, Wash. – The Salisbury University men's tennis team axed the Puget Sound Loggers, 6-1, to start three-match Spring Break trek through the Pacific Northwest on Monday afternoon at the indoor Tennis Pavilion.
 
MATCH NOTES
  • The Sea Gulls rolled through doubles play with wins in all three fixtures. Gurv Suri and Aron Bursztyn took care of first doubles 7-5, while Nicholas O'Dea and Bobby Stabile (6-3) in second and Maas Jacobs and Chase Catullo (6-1) in third doubles rolled with no trouble.
  • Catullo wrapped up his singles tilt first, buzzsawing through sixth singles 6-1, 6-1.
  • Suri (6-4, 6-1) and Bursztyn (6-1, 6-3) posted dominant dubs in first and fifth singles, respectively, while Stabile (7-5, 6-3) brushed off an early challenge to take fourth singles.
  • O'Dea sweated it out to win second singles, locking in during the third set and taking a 6-2, 5-7, 6-1 decision.
 
The Sea Gulls will next pair up with Willamette bright and early on Tuesday morning in Salem, Ore. First serve is set for 10 a.m. EDT (7 a.m. PDT).
