SALEM, Ore. – The Salisbury University men's tennis team made it two wins over their first two days in the Pacific Northwest, running down the Willamette Bearcats, 6-1, on Tuesday afternoon at the WU Tennis Courts.
MATCH NOTES
- The Sea Gulls started off on the right foot with dubs in all three doubles matches. Nicholas O'Dea and Bobby Stabile (6-2) made quick work of second doubles, while Gurv Suri and Aron Bursztyn in first and Maas Jacobs and Chase Catullo in third posted identical 7-5 scores.
- Suri kept the buzzsaw rolling in first singles, carving his way to a 6-1, 6-0 victory.
- Stabile (6-1, 6-3), Bursztyn (6-1, 6-2), and Luke Gibbs (6-2, 6-0) each secured straight-sets margins in fourth, fifth, and sixth singles.
- Jacobs passed a stiff test in third singles, outlasting his Bearcat foe 6-2, 4-6, 1-0 (10-8).
The Sea Gulls will play their final spring break match on Friday at Pacific University. First serve from Forest Grove, Ore., is set for 1 p.m. EDT (10 a.m. PDT).
